Everyone must have heard about Mega hit animation "Neon Genesis EVANGELION" or "REBUILD OF EVANGELION".
All the series of EVANGELION is located on Hakone.

Hakone is not that far away from Tokyo. If you take Odakyu Romancecar from Shinjuku Odakyu station, it only takes you 90 minutes to Hakone Yumoto Station (the total fee for the ticket and extra charge for express line is 2020 yen.) Hakone is a famous hot spring area in Kanto region. Every year over Twenty million people visit Hakone for sight seeing.

It is not just place which comes into manga but it is somewhere you can enjoy hot spring and plenty of Japanese souvenirs. It is a very pleasant tour you will enjoy. However it has been over 18 years since the first series of EVANGELION was on TV. So you will find a lot of differences in the scenery of Hakone Youmoto compared to the scenes that appears in the animation.

		Hakone 01 View in front of Hakone Yumoto Station This is the front view of Hakone Yumoto Station. Hakone Yumoto Station was made before the TV series. The station itself was renovated and looks as good as new. The cab station that comes into the series has been removed and replaced. Odakyu Romancecar line has been redesigned and is different from the one came in the TV series. Hakone Yumoto


		Hakone 02 Eva shop There is an EVANGELION goods shop in the 1F of Hakone Yumoto station. It is called Eva-ya, an Eve shop. There is a sightseeing map displayed in the shop. You will also find a lot of EVANGELION novelty goods in the shop.

		Hakone 03 Ashinoko-Lake The fight against the fourth Angel Shamshel took place in Ashinoko-Lake. About 18 years ago, this place was a very famous Evangelion photo shooting point. However all the trees and plants have grown free, the lake is beyond the plants now.

		Hakone 04 EVANGELION wrapping bus. This is EVANGELION wrapping bus. All the interior is Evengelion-nized. It always gives conflict for fans that whether it is better to take Romance car or to take this bus. Odayu Bus




		Hakone 05 Hakone-Rope way This is Hakone Rope way. It is used for secret meeting of Kaji and it acted as a crucial point of Abosolute Defense Line of Goura. Armed Gondola still have strong impact in fan's mind. There is a rope way Togendai station near Ashinoko-Lake. You can take this rope way to Oowakudani, where shinji dropped by when he was running away in the story.

		Hakone 06 Hakone Rope way Togendai Station This is a Souvenir shop at Togendai Station. There are a lot of Eva novelty goods in this shop too.





		Hakone 07 Oowakudani This is Oowakudani where Shinji dropped by while he was on the run.



		Hakone 08 Oowakudani delicacy Black Egg This is Oowakudani delicacy "Black Egg". Price: 500 yen for 5. Allegedly it taste so good that each one you eat extend your life for 7 years.


		Hakone 09 Fuji Hakone guest house. This is Fuji Hakone guest house. This is a very popular inn for tourist from overseas. Multilingual (English, French, Chinese and Japanese ) service is available in this hotel.

		Hakone 10 Mt.Fuji This is Mt.Fuji. The picture is taken from Otome touge, a famous Fuji picture shooting view spot. This place have a grandstand view of Gotenba city, the view of town lights at night are famously good too.
